Santa Barbara Art Works encourages creativity and professional growth for aspiring artists with disabilities.
An artist studio-gallery with a primary goal of helping artists with disabilities create, show, and sell their work. Secondly, we are an integrative community space for local artists to collaborate on exhibits, teach classes, and create works of art.
We specialize in helping artists with disabilities through the process of learning. By partnering with the services of UCP WORK, Inc., we have the ability to provide art instruction and adaptable art techniques for 15 resident artists with disabilities. Classes and workshops are taught five days a week in painting, ceramics, drawing, mixed media, and watercolors.
Santa Barbara Art Works hopes to break down barriers for people with disabilities, so that its participants are encouraged everyday, working towards finding employment in the art industry.
Santa Barbara Art Works is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 4:00PM, and welcomes artists from the community to collaborate on exhibits with our artists. In addition, we provide art studio space on a membership plan for local artists residing and working in the Santa Barbara area. Please contact our Studio Manager, Jacob Allio, for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Art exhibits and shows at Santa Barbara Art Works are an opportunity for the public to see art from artists in the process of finding their voice in the art world. We will be participating monthly in Downtown Santa Barbara's 1st Thursday events throughout the year. Please visit our Special Events Calendar online at http://www.sbartworks.org or follow us at http://www.facebook.com/santabarbaraartworks.
