DSBIA Signature Events
At the heart of our mission is the belief that a vibrant downtown is built on shared experiences. The Downtown Santa Barbara Improvement Association (DSBIA) proudly produces a year-round calendar of signature events designed to spark local pride, support our small businesses, and showcase the world-class creativity of our district. From our monthly art walk to dance classes on State Street, these are the traditions that bring our community together.
The LIVE Art & Wine Tour is a signature community event that pairs local culinary and wine offerings with live artistic performances across various downtown venues. This immersive evening concludes with a final party, featuring curated tastings, live music, and a silent auction to support downtown revitalization and beautification.

Kick up your heels with our series of weekly outdoor dance series on State Street. Featuring a rotating mix of genres from Salsa to Country Line Dancing, each evening begins with professional instruction followed by a high-energy social dance under the stars.

This is a prime opportunity to meet the inaugural Board of Directors of DSBIA and staff and to learn about DSBIA’s services and plans to revitalize downtown. Join us to celebrate the many dedicated people who have helped bring about this moment and are helping build its future. Small bites and beverages will be provided.
Downtown Santa Barbara comes alive during the holiday season with fun, community-centered traditions that celebrate local shops, music, and the arts. From the festive shopping of Small Business Saturday to the lively DSBIA Holiday Party and the magical Annual Tree Lighting Block Party, there’s something for everyone. Classic holiday tunes fill State Street with events like the Prime Time Band Sing-Along and the Holiday Brass Concert, while the Youth Holiday Luminary Art Contest gives young artists a starring role in the city’s official tree-lighting ceremony.

Downtown Santa Barbara turns into a fun, family-friendly Halloween spot as more than 100 local businesses welcome kids and their families for a safe trick-or-treat adventure. Costumed children can wander through downtown streets and stop by participating shops, restaurants, theaters, and galleries for treats.

ARTOBER is a month-long celebration that highlights the rich artistic landscape of downtown Santa Barbara through a creative collaboration with VOICE Magazine.
