Working with the City of Santa Barbara
While the Downtown Santa Barbara Improvement Association (DSBIA) works in close daily partnership with the City of Santa Barbara, we are an independent nonprofit organization (CBID) funded by and dedicated to our district’s property owners. Our role is to serve as your dedicated advocate - representing your interests at City Hall, attending City Council meetings, and navigating municipal processes on your behalf.
While we provide enhanced maintenance and safety services beyond what the City provides, certain infrastructure and policy matters remain under City jurisdiction. Use the resources below for direct municipal requests, or join one of our Land Use or Executive Committee meetings to discuss how we can advocate for your business at the civic level.
