Santa Barbara's Premier Performing Arts Venue

Built in 1924, the Granada Theatre has been a cornerstone of Santa Barbara's arts and entertainment landscape for over a century. Located in the heart of Downtown Santa Barbara, this historic 1,500-seat venue is home to eight resident companies — CAMA (Community Arts Music Association), Music Academy of the West, Opera Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Choral Society, Santa Barbara Symphony, State Street Ballet, American Theatre Guild (Broadway in Santa Barbara), and UCSB Arts & Lectures — and hosts regional and national touring productions.

The Granada has welcomed luminaries from Charlie Chaplin and Fred Astaire to Yo-Yo Ma and the London Symphony Orchestra, and once served as a Warner Bros. movie palace screening classics like Gone with the Wind. Today, its state-of-the-art production capabilities include Santa Barbara's first all-digital 4K HD cinema system, a true-stereo sound system designed by recording legend Allen Sides and Ocean Way Audio, and a dynamic, multifaceted lighting system. Dedicated to bringing world-class performances to the widest possible audience, the Granada remains a living landmark at the heart of Central Coast arts and culture.
