CEC advances rapid and equitable solutions to the climate crisis.

The Community Environmental Council (CEC) advances local, equitable solutions to the climate crisis — including clean energy and transportation, climate-smart agriculture, waste reduction, and community resilience. CEC also leads community-building programs such as the Climate Stewards and Youth Climate Workshops, which equip multi-generational activists to lead climate action, and operates the Environmental Hub as a center for public engagement and collaboration.

Located in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, CEC's Environmental Hub offers a beautiful, sustainably-designed space for nonprofits to host gatherings of all kinds – parties, conferences, workshops, film screening. The Hub boasts 5,000 square feet and is equipped with modular furniture, A/V capabilities, and other facility needs. When you host your gathering at The Hub, you support local environmental action. Learn more at envirohubsb.org.

CEC is led by CEO Sigrid Wright, named 2022 Congressional Woman of the Year. CEC has worked since 1970 to incubate and innovate real-life environmental solutions that directly affect the California Central Coast. Learn more about why CEC is only one of two nonprofits in Santa Barbara County to have the highest ratings on Charity Navigator at cecsb.org/impact.
