The Story of War

Did you catch SBCC’s production of Young Frankenstein? 👀
If you did, you probably remember the guy who played Dr. Frankenstein — Dillon Yuhasz.

Well… he went a little mad scientist again.

He wrote and created a completely original comedy called The Story of War, and it is honestly one of the most absurd, ambitious, handmade fever dreams I’ve ever seen come together. Yes I'm his wife and also the prop designer and stage hand, but I mean it when I say this thing is going to be so much fun.

Here’s the wild part:

He voices 17 different characters.
There are a ridiculous number of handmade props and backdrops.
There are animatronics. Yes, really.
It is genuinely a chaotic feat of one human being doing way too much (in the best way possible).

The premise? When Wathel Rogers, an animatronics inventor who split from Disney, decides to create the greatest animatronic show of all time… he lands on telling the entire history of warfare. From the Stone Age to modern times. Featuring violence, greed, questionable ambition… and dancing pirates.

Dillon plays both man and animatronic robot as he drags you through this strange, theatrical spiral through history.

If you love:

offbeat comedy
scrappy, handmade theatrical magic
ambitious local art
or watching someone attempt something that feels borderline impossible

You should absolutely come see this.
