Santa Barbara, CA — In celebration of its milestone 30th anniversary season, State Street
Ballet proudly presents The Brilliance Program: Balanchine, Arpino, and Beyond, a
breathtaking finale performance that pays tribute to timeless elegance ballet and the
groundbreaking creativity of modern movement. Join us at the Lobero Theatre on Friday,
May 9 at 7:30 PM and Saturday, May 10 at 2:00 PM for a spectacular evening of dance
that spans generations of artistic brilliance. This season finale marks the end of the first full
season under the leadership of Artistic Director Megan Philipp and Executive Director Cecily
MacDougall.
This unforgettable program features iconic works by two of ballet’s most influential
choreographers: George Balanchine’s jazzy, spirited Who Cares? set to the music of George
Gershwin, and Gerald Arpino’s vibrant Birthday Variations, a sparkling tribute accompanied
