As part of its weeklong, city-wide exploration of intersection of art and science, Brave New Work is excited to present a very special concert in Hahn Hall on the Music Academy of the West Campus, on Tuesday evening October 6th at 7:00pm, 6:30pm(doors) 5:30pm patio reception. The evening showcases three contemporary musicians expressing Brave New Work’s themes of environmental stewardship and the incorporation of humanity into technological advances.
Artist-Musician, Beatie Wolfe, who was named one of “The Top 20 Most Influential Artists in the World” by Wired Magazine, will synch her film “LA Pipedream” that recently premiered at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. A meditation on the source and uses of water in the Los Angeles basin, “LA Pipedream” was shot by National Geographic Cinematographer Grady Chandler. The Film’s score was written by Wolfe and the legendary musician-producer Brian Eno with whom Wolfe has recently completed 3 albums “Liminal”, “Luminal” and “Lateral”, on the Verve label.
The evening features the Santa Barbara Youth Symphony Conducted by Dr. Daniel Gee. The Youth Symphony is the culminating step in the Santa Barbara Symphony’s Youth ensemble program.
