CELEBS PACK STATE STREET (it’s not the film festival)

Celebrities and V.I.P.s have been commissioning their portraits by Santa Barbara artist, Metrov, since 1975. Metrov began his career in New York City when he portrayed his first clients, Bianca Jagger and Margaux Hemingway. “Margaux saw her portrait and was so moved, she sobbed uncontrollably for nearly an hour,” says Metrov. “People have told me I capture their souls. It’s not something I do on purpose. It just happens.” Some of Metrov’s more recent assignments include Academy Award winning writer, director, producer, Robert Zemeckis, world-renowned Health Crusader, Patricia Bragg, and singer/songwriter, Katy Perry. These new works—mixed media on large format panels—will be on exhibit at Youth Interactive, Non-Profit for Entrepreneurial Teens, this November. The exhibit will also feature a private fund-raising auction attended by Santa Barbara’s most elite donors. “Metrov’s portraits capture a depth in the individual few can match.” Tom Parker, President Hutton Parker Foundation. The artist has pledged 70% of all proceeds from sales and commissions to Youth Interactive. “I often create variations of portraits to offer my clients. They don’t always buy them all, so some of my celebrity inventory will be for sale.” You won’t want to miss this historical, star-studded event. You never know who may show up.
