Books for Breakfast

AWC-SB presents Books for Breakfast, an informal summer discussion group of books that will help us become Better Communicators. The second no-host event is taking place from 7:30am to 9 am on August 11 at Caje Coffee Roasters, located at 1316 State (across from the Arlington Theatre). Meetings are free, and you buy your own beverage. Food service does not begin until 8:30 a.m. The book for August is Ladies Get Paid: The Ultimate Guide to Breaking Barriers, Owning Your Worth and Taking Command of Your Career, by Claire Wasserman. Ladies Get Paid is an organization that champions the professional and financial advancement of women. This book follows real women who face a variety of professional challenges from salary negotiations to office politics. The book provides actionable advice and useable tools that equip and empower women to get the recognition and rewards that they deserve—and to see to it that other women are rewarded too! Bonus: This book is a summer selection for the national AWC Book Club, and AWC members can join a discussion with the author at a Zoom event on July 29.
