About Standing Sun Wines and the Bodega….
Standing Sun Wines focus on Rhone variety wines, handcrafted in small lots from some of Santa Ynez Valley's premiere vineyards. The fruit is sourced as vineyard specific varieties, each with its own characteristics and diversity. The resulting wines are pure, unmanipulated wines in the true sense of wine making...Take a great vineyard, pick great fruit, and simply make great juice. The same principles apply to our music and art selection for our music venue and art gallery. Our goal is simple….to spend time with family and friends, to enjoy life, music and art, through great wine. "
The Bodega is a (almost) 200 year old wine cellar nestled in the back corner of the historic Casa de la Guerra in downtown Santa Barbara. The Casa de la Guerra was the residence of the fifth commandant of the Presidio de Santa Barbara, José de la Guerra y Noriega from 1828 until his death in 1858. Descendants of José lived in the home until 1943. The Casa's wine cellar is now the home of Standing Sun's second tasting room...The Bodega.
