Community Holiday Tree Arriving in Downtown Santa Barbara

Release Date: November 21,2014

SANTA BARBARA, CA. – Downtown Santa Barbara welcomes the arrival of the Community Holiday Tree on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, to be placed on State Street right in time for the holiday season!

The 45’ Douglas Fir Community Holiday Tree was donated by Southern California Edison, as part of their annual reforestation process. Delivering the tree this year is the Presenting sponsor of the Parade, Consumer Fire Products, Inc. “We hired Specialty Crane to transport and place the tree,” said Irene Rhodes, president and CEO of Consumer Fire Products, Inc. “We’ll have people on hand to assist in any way we can!”

Downtown Santa Barbara would also like to thank the City of Santa Barbara’s Public Works and Parks Departments for the Tree’s installation, just north of the intersection of Victoria and State Streets.

The Tree is expected to arrive on State Street at 8:00 AM Tuesday morning and will be installed from 8:30 to 10:00am. “The Tree is a valued holiday tradition each year,” said Kate Schwab, DSB Marketing Director. “We are so thrilled to have found such an amazing angel in Consumer Fire Products – they really stepped in and saved our community tree this year!”

The official lighting of the Tree will take place on Friday, December 5th, at 6:30 PM by the Holiday Prince and Fairy at the beginning of the 62nd Annual Downtown Santa Barbara Holiday Parade Presented by Consumer Fire Products, Inc. and will shine brightly throughout the holiday season. Grand Marshal Alan Thicke (“Unusually Thicke”) will preside over the Holiday Parade, under the theme “Winter Nights & Holiday Lights.”
